Starlab is a portable planetarium that will ignite your children’s interest in astronomy. Starlab is made possible by a generous grant from Verizon. The planetarium comes to your school or function. Grade level lesson plans are tailor-made and incorporate National and State Standards for earth sciences and astronomy. We have astronomy based lesson plans for all grade levels, kindergarten through high school, including lesson plans for special education classes.

Since its inception in 1996, the Museum Without Walls program has offered innovative, educational outreach programs through schools and other venues, reaching more than 40,000 children in the region.

Starlab offers the following half-hour programs:

  • Skies of the Month.
  • Greek Mythology.
  • Native American Stories.
  • Comets, Past and Future.
  • Planets and Galaxies.
  • Celestial Navigation
  • Space Exploration
  • Studying the closest star, Our Sun
  • Stellar Adventures

Rates and Guideline for use:

  • The planetarium holds 25 children and 2 adults.
  • It must be set up indoors in a quiet area.
  • It requires a space that is 25’ x 25’ with a 12’ ceiling clearance.
  • The rate for Grades K-12 (25 minute session) is $6.00 per student with a $50.00 set-up fee.
